“I met Aninia in a particularly difficult time of my life, after having had a stillbirth and lost my first child late during pregnancy. I really knew next to nothing about the Grinberg method and thought I would just go in for a massage. I think it was one of the luckiest misunderstandings in my life.
With Aninia, I started to work on getting my body and mind back together: I realized that the grief I was going through was affecting my body, my physical well-being and bringing back a number of unresolved issues. In every session I learnt to know my body better, identify automatic gestures and reactions that hindered my ability to accept pain, anger, anxiety and deal with it as part of my being. “The first time Aninia worked with me I didn’t really understand what she was doing. Looking at my feet and pressuring points that hurt like hell expecting me to relax and breathe deeply. How could I not tense up, crawl up and hold my breath until it was over? That was how I always did it and it was the most natural and logical thing to me. But I quickly realised that Aninias approach worked much better and the pain at those points always went away if only I did as she said. In my process with Aninia I have learned to feel my body, recognise its needs, reactions and patterns. And I have learned what to do with it.
Now I can feel “problems” in my body and can locate it precisely. I can find out where it comes from, why it is there and work with it. Sometimes actively with exercises I learned, movement or simply letting out emotions. Other times more passively by just taking a moment to breathe and explore. “Go” where it hurts or feels tense. Look at it and most importantly breathe and relax. Before, I always tensed up and closed up. Like a wall to protect myself but it didn’t help. It only closed things in and incorporated it into my body. Instead, now I breathe, open up, go towards it and face it.As a result I don’t have any headaches or stomach aches anymore and my digestion is way better. I am more relaxed, happier and have so much more energy. Thanks to Aninias help!”
